S.L.A. Pharma AG was established in 1997 by David and Justin Slagel and remains a privately owned Swiss company. The strategy of S.L.A. Pharma is to develop pharmaceutical products that improve the quality of life for people with a range of gastro-intestinal conditions.

The strategy is accomplished by acquiring or in-licensing new products at an early stage from inventors. S.L.A. Pharma then invests in the development of these products in areas such as patent & trademark protection, pharmaceutical development, non-clinical studies, clinical trials and marketing authorisation applications. At present the product portfolio contains six products at different stages of the clinical development process. The development of these products has been targeted at the European, American and Australasian markets.

Growth is achieved by out-licensing products during the development process to companies with the relevant expertise to complete the development and the sales and marketing resource to launch the products in the selected markets.

Pharma, and its UK based service company, has built and developed an experienced and motivated team based at the offices in Watford, UK, in conjunction with a global network of gastro intestinal clinicians and academics.
